The Utility Expo in the US is probably the largest and most impressive event for utility professionals and construction contractors seeking comprehensive insights into the latest industry technologies, innovations and trends. The biennial trade show is well known for equipment test drives and interactive product demonstrations.

The Utility Expo took place in Louisville’s Kentucky Exposition Center in September 26th-28th, and showcased the latest equipment from over 850 exhibitors. The expo grounds cover more than 1.5 million square feet of indoor and outdoor exhibits and product demonstrations.

Hetronic, Inc. exhibited its expanding line of custom radio remote controls at the show. Multiple OEMs exhibited Hetronic radio and MECHL actuator systems to the more than 21,000 utility construction professionals attending from all 50 states and over 60 countries.

Of particular interest to booth visitors were the MECHL actuator-radio system for both retrofits and new builds of lifts, the Ergo-S handheld, (on display in Hetronic’s and Hetronic’s customer’s booths), and transmitters with larger displays. It was notable that long-standing customers were excited about new developments that could give them advantages over their competition at the next Utility Expo.

Interestingly, many equipment end-users stopped by the booth. While Hetronic brings product to market through their OEM and partner channels, end-user feedback is highly valued and sometimes quite eye-opening. It is always informative to speak with your customers’ customers and encouraging to see so many in attendance.
